Introduction:

Founded in 2017 to support community members who had been affected by suicide, Beacon for Hope, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Emporia, Kansas that serves individuals impacted by suicide in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Wabaunsee, Morris, Osage, and Woodson counties.  Beacon for Hops is funded by public donations and private donations and is an active member of the Kansas Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Two types of usable information are potentially collected when someone visits the Beacon for Hope website: personal information that is voluntarily disclosed - such as your name, email, home address, and phone number - and statistical data that is logged by an internet server, the software of our website domain, anytime a visitor accesses our page.  The latter consists of the aggregate of the total number visiting our website, the date and the time of their visit, as well as their approximate location.  These details are known as "cookies."

Beacon for Hope values ethical standards, written policies, and best practices.  We are committed to the protection of all user information.  We safeguard information collected from any unauthorized access.  Though protective safeguards are in place, it is impossible to fully guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet and shared on our page.  Therefore, Beacon for Hope is not liable for the malicious circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on our website.  The safety of visitor information is also equally dependent on the user's choices and personal discretion.  Any private information entered, financial transactions conducted on your digital device is always subject to theft during activity online or the unforeseen event your device is stolen, misplaced, or viewed by an unauthorized party.  Please take necessary precautions to safeguard your electronic devices.

Beacon for Hope may use your voluntarily disclosed information, including your email or mailing address, to contact subscribing visitors regarding organization developments, upcoming events, volunteering opportunities, fundraising campaigns, or resource updates.  An opt-out option can be chosen when responding to Beacon for Hope emails or mailings.  Recipients may contact Beacon for Hope by calling their office to opt out as well.
